SOBRE EL GRUPO
El Grupo de Investigación Derecho y Sociedad (GPDS) de la Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) tiene como objetivo promover y difundir investigación científica de excelencia en el ámbito del Derecho, en consonancia con los fundamentos epistemológicos, teóricos y metodológicos de la investigación sociojurídica contemporánea.
Certificado por el Consejo Nacional de Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico de Brasil (CNPq) desde 2014, el GPDS está dirigido por el investigador Prof. Dr. Lucas Pizzolatto Konzen, profesor de la Facultad de Derecho de la UFRGS, y está vinculado al Laboratorio de Investigación Empírica en Derecho (LaPED) del Programa de Posgrado en Derecho (PPGD-UFRGS).
El equipo del GPDS, integrado por estudiantes de iniciación científica, maestría y doctorado, desarrolla investigaciones —preferentemente de carácter empírico— orientadas al estudio de los fenómenos jurídicos en América Latina, en diálogo permanente con los avances más destacados de la producción académica internacional del movimiento Derecho y Sociedad.
El GPDS se ha destacado por sus estudios sociojurídicos desarrollados desde la perspectiva de la geografía jurídica crítica sobre la regulación del espacio urbano, así como por sus investigaciones sobre las relaciones entre los campos jurídico, científico y político.
